CUPE Strike Impact on Schools

You received information directly from CBE earlier this week with regards to the upcoming CUPE strike.  Here are a few highlights families will need to be aware of effective Monday:  

• All in person learning including field trips, etc. will continue as usual! 
• To allow for cleaning after school hours, students will be asked to leave school immediately after school and all staff will be asked to leave the school within 45 minutes 
• The volleyball season will continue as scheduled; however, spectators will be limited to parents/guardians of athletes directly involved in the event, and access will be limited to the gymnasium (no stage).  NO STUDENT SPECTATORS. 
• Athletic practices, fine arts rehearsals and other curricular activities will continue, with a goal for these activities to end by no later than 6 p.m.  Then all staff and students need to leave immediately…no later than 6:15. Again, no siblings or other students will be permitted to stay. 
• School council and all other meetings will be moved online.
