Preparing for the tests:
- It is recommended that students come to school having eaten a healthy breakfast. If you require food support please let the school know.
 - It is recommended that students get as much sleep as possible each evening before a test.
 - All tests are written on the computer but having a pencil so that equations can be solved on paper is recommended.
 - Students should have their own calculator (cannot be a scientific/graphing calculator) for Math Part B, K&E Math and Science tests (Grade 9 only).
 - Students can have water and a “quiet” snack at their desk with them during the test. They will not be permitted to eat a full meal and should not have any other types of beverages.
 - It is recommended that your child arrive on time for school each day. We can accommodate late starts but this can be disruptive in the testing environment.
 - As per Alberta Education policy, there is a designated amount of time that students must remain in the testing environment. If a student is done writing a test early, they are permitted to either read a book or draw. If your child wishes to have a book to read, this must be brought in at the start of the test.

Technology
- As per Alberta Education, personal devices (cell phones, tablets, laptops and smart watches) are not permitted in the testing environment. These cannot be with the student at all. We are asking that students keep all of these devices in their lockers or not bring them to school.

Late Arrivals
- If your child is late for school, they can still start writing the test once they arrive. They will be permitted the full amount of time that the test is allotted.

Missed Tests
- If your child is absent for a test, they can write the test once they return to school. Please note that this could mean that your child may have to write a scheduled exam in the morning and then a catch-up exam in the afternoon.

Afternoons
- Please note that there are regular classes scheduled for each afternoon after a PAT.
 - Students are expected to be at school for the full day on each testing day.
 - We are unable to accommodate students coming to the office after the tests, to call home after a test to arrange an early pick up.
