Athletics

So proud of our volleyball players for the incredible season they’ve had!!  The junior girls played SO WELL on Thursday night, snatching back the semi-finals in matches 3-5, then coming SO CLOSE to taking first in the finals: coming within a few points of winning in the 2nd and 3rd sets.  Second place in the division is something to be incredibly proud of.  Go Firebirds!!  Junior boys will compete in their semi-finals on Monday...Good luck!!!

Help with reminders...

I’m hoping you can help us with a few reminders, so our students are hearing it from both home and school!  We have recently found many students bringing perfume/cologne/body spray to school and feeling the need to re-apply many times throughout the day!  Although anyone who has spent time in junior high might have an appreciation for the increase in hygiene awareness...for the poor individuals with allergies/asthma or just attempting to breathe while walking down a hallway...this has become extremely difficult.  Can you please remind your adolescent to please apply deodorant/body spray at home in the morning and then leave it there until after school when a second application might be appreciated by their family.  We all thank you!

Finally...another request to please remind students that both phones and headphones need to remain in their lockers from entry to exit of school.  Any students with noise sensitivities are welcome to use noise cancelling headphones (we have them at school), however, wireless headphones are not permitted. Additionally, ‘plug-in’ headphones can be used with CBE owned devices with teacher permission. Again, we very much appreciate your help communicating these province-wide expectations.
