Track and Field!!!
This week, we begin Track and Field. If your child is interested in practicing, and/or representing our school at the Track Meet on June 11th, I encourage you to have them come out and practice in one or more events of their choice. Below they can find the days and times practices will be offered for each event this week.
Health and Safety Reminders
A few gentle reminders for both students and families:
- Please respect the bus zone in front of the school. We have 6 large buses - 4 of them have room to park in front of the crosswalk, but 2 of them need space behind the crosswalk, and are sometimes late. Please do not park/stop in front of the fence by the staff parking lot. CPS encourages a “walk a block” meet up spot for families who pick up their children to ensure the front of schools remains a safe place for students. Thank you for helping with this!
- In the interest of both healthy food choices and mess prevention…SJF is a slurpee/can free zone!!! We encourage students who wish to buy a slurpee from 7-eleven at lunch to buy the small size to allow them time to finish it before returning to school.
- As the nice weather returns, students can expect to be spending increasing amounts of time outside!! Please make sure you remember hats/sunscreen/water bottles/comfortable shoes as you plan for the day!
Cafeteria
The cafeteria has been a huge success in its opening weeks!!! Ms. Sue is adjusting amounts every day based on sales, so if your first choice wasn’t available this week…keep trying! And we are excited to announce that we now have access to Debit/Credit! Daily specials will be added as we continue to grow!
