Artist in Residence 

Mika has had a chance to work with most of the students in the school this week.  They were given instructions on the basics of fibre and weaving.  The pieces each student creates will end up being part of the larger collaborative art installation!  Ask your child about it. 

Creating a fibre collage and a large collaborative loom are projects for next week! 

Heads up!  At the end of the residency, we are planning a fun unveiling celebration with students, parents and the community.

Inktober 

For the month of October, students at SJF are invited to participate in Inktober! This is an international arts-based activity where artists across the world create a post-it size ink art piece based on a daily prompt. Students at SJF can explore the prompts from the original or ‘classic’ Inktober, or work in any medium responding to a set of Halloween-themed prompts for the month. More details are posted outside the Drama Room, and students can also drop off pieces if they would like to share on our Inktober board there!
